- Net Commander Setup procedures.

- A. Windows 95.
-
- Place Net Commander CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive. Within several seconds,
- installation menu is shown. Alternatively, double click on setup95.exe on your
- CD-ROM drive to start Net Commander. You have to install Net Commander
- (select Install button) prior to adding other tools.

- Net Commander requires that Dial-up networking and SLIP and Scripting for
- Dial-up networking be installed on your computer. Net Commander will check your system
- configuration and will prompt you to install these components if they are missing.

- II. If Dial-up networking is NOT installed on your computer, please follow these
- procedures to install Dial-up networking.

- 1. Place Windows 95 CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive.
- 2. Select Start, Setting and then Control Panel.
- 3. Double click Add/Remove Programs and then click on Windows Setup tab.
- 4. Double click on Communications and then check Dial-up Networking box.
- 5. Click OK and then OK again to exit.

- III. If SLIP and Scripting for Dial-up networking is NOT installed on your computer,
- please follow these procedures to install Dial-up networking.

- 1. Place Net Commander CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive.
- 2. Select Start, Setting and then Control Panel.
- 3. Double click Add/Remove Programs and then click on Windows Setup tab.
- 4. Click on "Have Disk" and then on "Browse" button.
- 5. Select "dscript" directory on your CD-ROM drive. You should see RNAPLUS.INF file
- in your list box. Press OK, and then OK again.
- 6. Check SLIP and Scripting for Dial-up networking box, and then press Install button.
- 7. Press OK.

- IV. Net Commander is shipped with Microsoft Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer
- is not installed on your computer, Net Commander will install it when you select
- "Install" button.

- B. Windows 3.1

- I. Assuming that drive "D" is your CD-ROM drive:

- Install Net Commander software from CD-ROM, first open File Manager and then
- double-click on Setup31.exe.

- After sucessful installation of Net Commmander, Net Commander Setup Group will
- be created. You can add Net Commander tools by double-clicking on their icons.
- Please make sure that Net Commander CD-ROM is in your CD-ROM drive.

- II. If you already have an account with an Internet Service Provider, you have
- to delete the WINSOCK.DLL file from the directory where Net Commander is installed
- (default C:\NETCMDR). In addition, please make sure that the directory where
- your provider's WINSOCK.DLL resides is included in your path in AUTOEXEC.BAT
- file.

- III. We have included a file with a list of Internet Service Providers
- (ISPLIST.DOC) which can be found in the ISP directory on your CD-ROM.
- Additionally, individual scripts required for Trumpet Winsock are located
- in ISP\SCRPTLST directory on the CD-ROM.

- Errata:
- Certain typographical errors appear in the electronic manual for
- Net Commander, specifically references to "NetTalk" are incorrect and should
- have been corrected to "NetCall". This error will be corrected in all future
- editions of this manual.
