  1.             Net Commander Setup procedures.

  5. A. Windows 95.
  6.  
  7.     Place Net Commander CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive.  Within several seconds, 
  8. installation menu is shown.  Alternatively, double click on setup95.exe on your 
  9. CD-ROM drive to start Net Commander.  You have to install Net Commander 
  10. (select Install button) prior to adding other tools.

  12.     Net Commander requires that Dial-up networking and SLIP and Scripting for 
  13. Dial-up networking be installed on your computer.  Net Commander will check your system 
  14. configuration and will prompt you to install these components if they are missing.

  16. II.  If Dial-up networking is NOT installed on your computer, please follow these 
  17. procedures to install Dial-up networking.
  18.  
  19. 1. Place Windows 95 CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive.
  20. 2. Select Start, Setting and then Control Panel.
  21. 3. Double click Add/Remove Programs and then click on Windows Setup tab.
  22. 4. Double click on Communications and then check Dial-up Networking box.
  23. 5. Click OK and then OK again to exit.

  25. III.     If SLIP and Scripting for Dial-up networking is NOT installed on your computer, 
  26. please follow these procedures to install Dial-up networking.

  28. 1. Place Net Commander CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive.
  29. 2. Select Start, Setting and then Control Panel.
  30. 3. Double click Add/Remove Programs and then click on Windows Setup tab.
  31. 4. Click on "Have Disk" and then on "Browse" button.
  32. 5. Select "dscript" directory on your CD-ROM drive.  You should see RNAPLUS.INF file
  33.    in your list box.  Press OK, and then OK again.
  34. 6. Check SLIP and Scripting for Dial-up networking box, and then press Install button.
  35. 7. Press OK.

  37. IV.    Net Commander is shipped with Microsoft Internet Explorer.  If Internet Explorer
  38. is not installed on your computer, Net Commander will install it when you select
  39. "Install" button.

  44. I.    Assuming that drive "D" is your CD-ROM drive:

  46. Install Net Commander software from CD-ROM, first open File Manager and then 
  47. double-click on Setup31.exe.
  48.  
  49. After sucessful installation of Net Commmander, Net Commander Setup Group will
  50. be created.  You can add Net Commander tools by double-clicking on their icons.
  51. Please make sure that Net Commander CD-ROM is in your CD-ROM drive.

  53. II.    If you already have an account with an Internet Service Provider, you have
  54. to delete the WINSOCK.DLL file from the directory where Net Commander is installed 
  55. (default C:\NETCMDR).  In addition, please make sure that the directory where
  56. your provider's WINSOCK.DLL resides is included in your path in AUTOEXEC.BAT
  57. file.

  60. III.    We have included a file with a list of Internet Service Providers 
  61. (ISPLIST.DOC) which can be found in the ISP directory on your CD-ROM.  
  62. Additionally, individual scripts required for Trumpet Winsock are located 
  63. in ISP\SCRPTLST directory on the CD-ROM.

  66. Errata:
  67.     Certain typographical errors appear in the electronic manual for 
  68. Net Commander, specifically references to "NetTalk" are incorrect and should
  69. have been corrected to "NetCall".  This error will be corrected in all future 
  70. editions of this manual.
